Curriculum

The Roots

Pre-school, Pre-Primary:

Young minds are fragile and pose a million questions. The foremost task for the facilitators at such a time is to help children make a smooth transition from home to school.

Comfort within the school ensures a child’s ability to master the basics of Reading, Writing and Arithmetic. Simultaneously, children grow familiar with social skills required to adjust with peers and develop a sound value system.

ENLIGHT curriculum plays a vital role in shaping the initial learning years of our children’s education. We make use of a variety of tools such as storytelling, dramatization, counting games, group activities, pretend play, art, music, role-play, fields excursions, puppet shows and sports activities.

We also provide for a ‘Theme Time’ where several activities are integrated around a central theme to make the learning experience more meaningful and relevant for the child.

The Shoots

I -V

“ Education is not prepration for life , it is life itself.”- John Dewey

Keeping this in mind, we at Maxfort have initiated to select a curriculum which is an amalgamation of our cultural values and modern western education. XSEED programme offers a very high standard of education that motivates each and every young learner to grow in all dimensions ; intellectually, emotionally, physically, culturally and artistically.

It is targeted to provide the child with the opportunities for building communicative English. The activities bring the language to life by providing a real basis for speaking, and the interactive exchange of ideas, opinions and feelings with another person. The child is encouraged to realize and appreciate the importance of English as an international language of communication.

The child by nature is curious about the world. Therefore, XSEED programme’s approach to Science and Social Science is experimental. Our young learners are encouraged to address real life social issues in the form of thought provoking cartoons. As a result, they look at the events and issues from multiple and often divergent perspective. The actual experiences and problem solving help them to explore and understand unfamiliar situations.

Mathematics is as vital as Life Sciences. The main goal of mathematics education is the logical development of the child’s thought process through joyful learning. There is more focus on activities and exercises so that the learner feels encouraged to do them. They develop reflective thinking and reasoning where rote learning is discouraged. As a result , the child learns to enjoy mathematics rather than fear it. It enables him/her to link his knowledge with the everyday experiences.

Hence, XSEED most importantly wishes to give the young learners the opportunity to develop learner’s potential to the highest so that they cope with the competitive challenges of the complex world by making learning a delightful experience.

The Saplings

Classes VI to VIII:

Curriculum can rightly be called the backbone of a school and it is what supports and propels students towards success. A true curriculum is one which caters to all the areas of a child’s developmental needs or in other words strikes a perfect balance between curricular and co-curricular aspects of learning. This is what the curriculum is what Maxfort School, Dwarka believes in and follows. There is an equal stress and importance given to a child’s excellence in both academics and co-curricular activities.

The school is a recognized Senior Secondary school and follows the CBSE curriculum.. But at the same time, extra resources are brought in by the facilitators to widen the horizon of child’s knowledge and prepare our children to complete well in a world witnessing a knowledge boom. Other than the textbooks, a very hands on approach is adopted by the teachers to concretize the knowledge imparted to the learners.

However, it is not just all study and no play that takes place in Maxfort School. Our school children actively participate different activities being conducted across Delhi. The students are constantly motivated & guided to excel in co-curricular activities by the facilitators. The school has recently elected a student’s council and introduced House System to further promote the co-curricular component of the curriculum.

21st century is synonymous with stress and even our young learners are not spared by it. The school is a pioneer in the field of Counselling and guidance led by the visiting expert Dr. V.S. Ravindran(Director, ICTRC). A highly effective programme is developed for the teachers
